Lina Carrero: The craziest housemate story

Lina Carrero is the craziest girl I’ve ever met. Absolute psycho and a nightmare. I am writing this post so that nobody else has to go through what we had  to go through. 

I live with a disability, no parents, and was going through tough times in my life and this is what she did to me for attention. She is capable of horrible things for attention, including starting a gofundme page where she accuses a guy of being physically abusive to her.

Here is my story: Lina Carrero – or Lina Marin/Lina Carrero Bastos (Student Assistant/Cottbus), whichever name she’s using now- and I lived in Brisbane for three months and it was an absolute nightmare. She told me that in her previous place, one of her housemates tried to attack/stalk her. Needless to say, we found out this to be an absolute lie later on. 

Lina and I definitely did not get along because I felt that she would make last-minute demands and would get upset if I didn’t comply with it (i.e., moving her wardrobe when I had just comeback from work). One day, she came home really depressed. I didn’t like her but I tried to cheer her up by playing/teaching the guitar. I remembered that she asked me to teach her before. The following day, she was going completely crazy, acting erratic, and was muttering many crazy things like how “the sun came back just for her”. We later learned that she was having a psychotic breakdown.

She covered the bathroom wall with granola, asked her friend to pee with her in the backyard, and tried to strip a girl. I insisted on taking her to a mental institution but her equally crazy friend (Nazurah Salleh) was against it because she was afraid of the hospital fee. Even though it was clear that Lina really needed some medical help.

During this time, we used to have a kid from the neighborhood drop by our house all the time. On this day, when the kid came to our house, Lina started flinging around the 3-yr old child like a maniac and making her cry. Needless to say, at this point we put her to the mental institution against her will.

At the same time, she accused another housemate of being a thief (this, I actually believe). Despite the fact that I didn’t like her at all, I contacted her family and her workplace and made sure she didn’t hurt anyone. Long story short, she came out of the hospital. A month later, she accused me of trying to kill her with a candle (!). According to her, this had happened when she was going crazy. She couldn’t say why or what I had said but insisted on the fact that I tried to kill her with a candle. She would cry if people didn’t believe her. She left the house for good but later came back unannounced to remove things from the house because she thought they belonged to hers despite the fact that they were things that we all pitched in. She also showed the house to random people (at this point she wasn’t living there) when we were all away and lied to the guy that he could move in WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE THAT WAS LIVING THERE. I came home one day and there was a guy moving his stuff into the house. Judging from the fact that she was threatening the other housemate (Lucas, the guy who was dating her friend, Nazurah) to give her the new guy’s bond money, my guess is that she wanted to run away with the bond money despite the fact that she actually owed a lot of people a lot of money during this time.

I helped Lina when she needed my help but then she accused me of some crime just to get attention when she no longer needed my help. She was so insidious to the point that she would fake cry if people didn’t believe that I tried to kill her with candles. When people told me this, I thought that was insane. She would have been badly hurt if I didn’t look after her during her psychotic breakdown and this was how she repaid me.

She took zero responsibilities about almost killing a three year old child. If she did, she wouldn’t have accused me of attempted murder, considering I was the one that stopped her from making the worst mistake of her life.

Even if I DID threaten to kill her, it is insane she would wait a month to make a huge fuss about it and she did it when she knew I was going through a difficult patch (I was having difficulties in my relationship at the time partially worsened by Lina’s crazy antics).  Within the three months of knowing her, she had accused three people of doing horrible things to her (her old housemate, another housemate, and me), which is virtually impossible. She knew she was lying since she never went to cops, despite crimes such as attempted rape, threatening murder, and theft are pretty serious.

Fortunately, my life is great now. I’m happily married and we earn enough so that we never have to share accommodation with anyone. However, I always felt that I do nice things to others because I want the world to be a better place. Being betrayed like that was seriously distressing and no one had to go through what I had. I try to live an honest life and I cannot believe someone like Lina exists. I hope people who consider living with her will come across this page and decide not to. She doesn’t care that she almost killed, if not badly hurt, a child.

Update: I was informed that she has created a gofundme page (unsuccessfully; now deleted) stating that she’s a single mother as a result of her ex-husband being abusive.

Needless to say, the family members of her ex has gone out of their way to defend the guy on the page and even claim that this gofundme page is a scam, saying that she has enough money for herself and to travel (text in German):

Translation: “We are the grandparents of this little two year old girl. We have been able to follow Lina Marin’s life very closely over the past four years. We could see her overseas vacation trips and everything she bought for herself. All purchases of this kind were paid for by our family. We will continue to care for our granddaughter together with our son. Therefore, we can only warn everyone to donate money to Lina Marin. Rather go on vacation yourself from the money or buy something nice because the little one will not get the money.”

“How low can you sink Lina? Not only because of your hypocritical begging campaign after years of living at someone else’s expense, but that you don’t even shy away from reaching such destructive and hurtful lies. Maybe at some point you will find your decency again, I hope!”

She’ll always be accusing guys of trying to hurt her, whether it’s attempted rape or murder. People like that never change and it seems like her entire Carrero family is backing her up even though they must know the kind of stuff she has done.

Yes, criticizing a person who is willing to say a guy is abusive to get money to travel is “toxic” according to the Carrero family.

I think Lina is awful but her friends who support Lina even though they know that she is morally bankrupt are even worse.
